Must haves items in your prep suite
Eek so the big day has arrived and all the excitement and nerves are kicking in, prep is an important part of the day, its a place to where you get that moment to really take it all in before the party and hustle and bustle.
So here are a few tip to help thing run smoothly so you can embrace the day.
A copy of your wedding stationay theses included, vows books, invites, it’s all part of your story and great for details shots along with your shoes, perfume, watches, rings and jewellery.
The flowers/button holes
It’s great to have the flowers in the room while getting ready there again a key part to the detail shot, sometime flowers are being stored in cool places especially in the summer. Make sure the bridal party know where this is and when the venue is bringing them. You don’t want that panic just before the ceremony.
Sewing kits and scissors
Again it’s a great idea to have these to hand as you never know if you would need them. Some times it’s just a simple snip to cut a label off or a loose thread.
A streamer or iron
Even if the outfits have been done it’s there as a back up, if you don’t want to bring one ask the venue if they have one or a room.
Keep the room tidy
Know where things are make sure it all has a place, it means no rushing or stressing.
Food and drinks
Wedding days can be long you don’t want to be going in the ceremony hangry, so have a plan with the venue or bring some along, also when its hot you want to make sure your hydrated. The last thing you want is to feel terrible.
An emergency kit
It’s a great to have one if these to hand and to know who has it.
Have it all plaster, medication, hair & safety pins, deodorant, sunscreen, umbrellas, phone chargers, etc.
Hangers
Often the dress /suits with arrive on not the most desirable hanger - you don’t want to look at black plastic one in the photos, think pretty wooden or padded cloth ones.
Last but not least music.
Bring some music create a playlist it helps to set a tone and relax the nerves, remember it’s not just the grooms and brides that get nerves but the main wedding party can to. It’s great to have something to sing and dance to and makes for some great getting ready photos.
